You know what?

I had a very sleepy long weekend, I think I slept more than anything else. My body and mind are clearly worn out from the past several weeks of upheaval and general emotional blah. I slept, and slept, and slept some more. Today I went for a massage, and then went and had eggs and coffee, I forced myself to be outside in the semi sunlight until I was ready to head home.

And I opened my emails to something rather unexpected. The person that originally got me into running when I was in Melbourne and who years ago planted the marathon seed in my head, had taken the time to email me to wish me luck. He didn't need to, but he did. It was one of the nicest and thoughtful emails I have ever received. It made my day, actually it made more than my day, it made me genuinely happy and confident for the first time in weeks.

And you know what?

I'm ready.

You go girl!

How nice of him to send that email - helps us remember there are still lots of genuine, caring people around.

Will be thinking of you on race day.
